Starry Winter Night

Snow-like floral branches under a canopy of twinkling lights fill the ballroom of a historic hotel in Boston creating the ultimate starry winter night.

“Our inspiration for the design of this wedding was driven by the couple’s desire to create a magical, starry winter’s night. The grandeur of the ballroom, with its high ceiling and gold detail, was the perfect backdrop to Renee’s gold and white color palette preference and the use of trees and crystals to create the feeling of being in an enchanted forest,” explained event planner Janie Hass of Janie Hass Events. Each table held a breathtaking sparkly display of white floral branches, decorated with hanging votive candles, emerging from tall frosted vases. The cool blue lighting designed by Suzanne B. Lowell added to the winter ambiance while the vast amount of pillar and votive candles created a warming feeling throughout the ballroom. “All of my vendors were exceptional. Marc Hall Design and Suzanne B. Lowell created everything that I was dreaming of, while skillfully orchestrated by Janie Haas and captured by Corinna Raznikov and Artistic Wedding Films,” raved the bride.

Cozy Romance

An intimate, cozy November wedding is celebrated by candlelight at the New Haven Lawn Club

After deciding on a November wedding, it was clear to Kristin that she wanted a cozy, yet elegant ambiance on her wedding day. She fell in love with the warm and inviting nature of the New Haven Lawn Club with its awe-inspiring chandeliers in the ballroom and the cozy fireplaces throughout. “I met with Christine Brush the first day I went to look at the NHLC with my Mom and she ensured me she knew exactly what I wanted. When I walked into the ballroom with my Dad, getting ready to walk down the aisle, I was so overcome with emotion because it was honestly the most beautiful site I had ever seen. The breathtakingly beautiful ballroom, rose petals lining the aisle, the mantle covered with pillar candles, the cello and piano playing “A Thousand Years”, and of course the man of my dreams smiling at me- it was my dream come true, Kristin described.

Whimsical Love Story

Fresh florals and twinkling lights transform the Providence Public Library into a whimsical love story

Drawn to the architectural details, warm marble tones, the separate spaces for cocktails, dining, and dancing, and the in-house catering of Russell Morin Catering & Events, Nicole knew the Providence Public Library was the perfect venue for her wedding. “It was really helpful that Russell Morin appointed an event coordinator to help with the process. Alexandra was so helpful and went above and beyond for me,” Nicole said. The library already felt whimsy and romantic to Nicole so it was important to her that it was enhanced with the event décor and not overpowered by it. Twinkling trees from Exquisite Events created a grand entrance to the dance space while floral arrangements in blush and ivory hues and crawling greens adorned every surface making you feel as though you were in a secret garden. The mood was set for dancing & dining with lighting by Ormonde Productions. Guests feasted on the delicious offerings of Russell Morin Catering & Events followed by dancing to the beats of Victor Events.

Cranberry, Sage, and Plum

Rich cranberry, sage, and plum pop against the the stormy grey stones of the Stone House in Little Compton, Rhode Island.

With a view that looks out onto the vast ocean, Gillian and Bennett fell in love with the colors of the stormy seas as the waves crashed ashore. Inspired by the ceiling at Grand Central Station, they found an antique star map that Ladyfingers Letterpress used to design their invitation suites which inspired the rest of their décor. Wanting each floral arrangement to look wild, Gillian requested that Flowers by Semia did not use any white flowers. White linens were dressed up with vibrant arrangements of deep red dahlias, blackberry branches, and other greenery, in vases that were made by the groom. “We worked a lot with our planner at Russell Morin Catering and Events to source local ingredients, grass-fed beef, local bluefish, and vegetables from local farms. They worked seamlessly with us to create a real ‘farm to table’ feast,” Gillian raved.
