Petal Pink & Leafy Green – Color Theory

A warm summer color palette of petal pink and leafy greens created a dreamy ambiance within the gilded ballroom at The Lenox Hotel in Boston.

“Petal pink and gold are colors that to me, represent elegance, vintage glamour, and romance. I wanted my wedding to reflect this as much as possible,” Elizabeth explained. The ballroom, with its gold architectural details and vintage-inspired hanging pendant lights made The Lenox Hotel the perfect place to bring her dream wedding to life. A band of greenery with clusters of coral-hued amaryllis anchored a wall of white chiffon draping, creating a blank canvas for peach and pink carnation buds that looked as though they were floating. After the ceremony this dreamy wall served as the backdrop for the sweetheart table and the harpist to serenade the newlyweds and the rest of the guests as they enjoyed a decadent meal crafted by the talented culinary team at The Lenox Hotel.

Neutral Nuptials – A Cape Cod Wedding

A love for earthy neutral hues led to a clean, seaside chic wedding on the breathtaking coast of Cape Cod.

When it came time for Olivia to meet with her Event Planner Tasha of SD Events and Floral Designer Karen of Lilacs, she expressed her affinity for a clean, neutral wedding. She envisioned white and green floral accents mixed with earthy textures like wood and burlap and the two seasoned event professionals created magic under a twinkling white tent.

1. The table made guests feel as though they were dining in a magical garden.

2. A sea of crisp white bouquets popped against silvery-gray gowns.

3. Weathered shutters and a rustic flower box created a cottage-like setting for the escort card table.

4. A textural bouquet of white blooms is enhanced by lush green amaranth.

5. Translucent place settings created the illusion of floating menu cards.

6. Dressed to impress, their furry friend was a favorite among guests.

7. Tall crystal vases juxtaposed with vintage wooden boxes held each floral arrangement, blurring the lines between rustic and modern style.

Lavender, Aubergine, and Green – Color Theory

Purples ranging in intensity from the softest lavender to vivid ultra violet to deep aubergine infuse a modern ballroom with life & color.

The relaxing scent of fresh lavender mingled with lilac and eucalyptus filled the air. Kim Lamothe of Greenlion Design created bountiful arrangements that were both structured and loose as if they were growing wild in a spring garden. At the bottom of the grand staircase a lively arrangement of lavender, eucalyptus, and sweet peas wrapped around the banister as if it just bloomed there naturally. The mantle of the capiz shell fireplace held a similar arrangement creating a breathtaking backdrop for the head table. Smaller arrangements mixed with crisp white tapers encased in crystal vases lined the long tables while each round table featured a floral sculpture perched upon a brushed nickel stand. “This wedding was full of life. Maybe it was the aromatherapy of all the flowers that kept us lively, but there were so many pretty things to photograph, we never got tired of snapping!” Mariah of Snap! Weddings recalled.

Botanical Bliss — A Real Wedding

A minimalist approach to color met a maximalist approach to botanical texture in the most awe-inspiring way for this verdant wedding.

The lush lawns, old stone walls, and majestic trees of Jane’s family’s private residence offered a picturesque backdrop that inspired her to blend the décor organically as if it were all part of the natural landscape. Leafy green branches were anchored to the wooden supports of the beautiful white cloth tent looking as if they had been growing there for years. Loosely arranged textural greens with pops of white blooms in vintage vessel sprinkled the vast tables below. Long banquet tables and family-style platters of food added an element of cozy to the mix. “We wanted the food to reflect late August in NE and the team at Capers Catering presented colorful, in-season dishes, from cocktail hour to heaping passed platters at the dinner table. They were able to source special foods that we had requested, including legs of Jamon Iberico, oysters from Duxbury, MA, and ice cream from a New Hampshire dairy farm,” Jane recalled.
