Creative Expression

A whimsical gala dedicated to exploring how the Peabody Essex Museum inspires innovation and creative expression in the community.

This year’s theme for the annual fundraising gala at the Peabody Essex Museum was motivated by imagination. Antique kaleidoscopes inspired the overall event design which can best be described as colorful, imaginative and whimsical. Fabrics lush with texture from Table Toppers of Newton dressed every surface. Integrating the whimsical theme, gilded crown chairs from Reserve Modern Event Rental were the focal point of the event lounge where guests sipped on cocktails and enjoyed interactive experiences provided by PEM. The Atrium of the Peabody Essex Museum was illuminated with imaginative lighting and projections throughout the night. “Our in-kind partners were key in bringing to life the vision of PEM and the Committee. In particular, Reserve Modern Event Rentals, Peterson Party Center, Table Toppers and I were able to work together to build the perfect atmosphere for our guests full of elegance and whimsy which is a difficult combination to achieve successfully,” said Lauren Fairweather, Director of Events at Peabody Essex Museum.

BLISS Bash 2016

BLISS Bash 2016 was the much anticipated launch of our 2016 issue of BLISS Celebrations Guide. This is our favorite night of the year because it gives us the opportunity to network with all the amazingly talented professionals that grace the pages of the magazine. This year we were hosted by the New Bedford Whaling Museum in their brand new event space and their in-house catering team, Russell Morin Catering & Events. As always it was a fun (and delicious!) night for all! We are beyond thankful to the other event professionals that contributed to the success of the night: Sayles Livingston Design, Exquisite Events, Peterson Party Center, Table Toppers of Newton, Ormonde Productions, Victor Events, Coral Pheasant, Sharon Morgera, Valet ConnectionMolly Lo Photography.

Cheers to another successful year of events!

Gala in “Paris”

Boston Lyric Opera kicked off their season with a gala that was nothing short of spectacular.
Lynn Dale, event designer and gala chairperson drew her inspiration from the set design of
Boston Lyric Opera’s new production of La Traviata created by Julia Noulin-Merat, which was
premiering the same night. The night began with a delectable pre-opera dinner catered by The Catered Affair. The room was set to emulate the Parisian Belle Époque or “Beautiful Era” and was exhibited by using period-inspired chinaware placed upon gold framed tables provided by Be Our Guest. The tables were set on stage under the spotlights immersing guests in the theatrical atmosphere. Elegant floral arrangements placed between pillar candles served as centerpieces on each table courtesy of Winston Flowers. After dinner guests were taken across the street to the premiere of the opera. The celebration continued after the premiere as guests made their way back to attend the sparkling Gala After-Party and mingled with the cast.
