BLISSbash 2018 – a party to remember!

New England’s top event professionals, stylists, and visionaries alike gathered for BLISSbash at the newly renovated Waterfire Arts Center for the unveiling of our 2018 issue.

With infinite ceilings, vast windows, and raw industrial architecture, the event space at the Waterfire Arts Center was the perfect location to host BLISSbash. Greeted with their choice of our signature cocktails of the night; the Hi-Bliss-Cus Sparkler or the Forbidden Cocktail and a copy of the magazine, guests made their way inside. Two weathered iron beams framing a massive white wall provided a canvas for Ormonde Productions to project the pages of the magazine so everyone could see their breathtaking contributions on the big screen.

Savory passed hors d’oeuvres like duck confit sliders, avocado toast topped with fire-roasted corn, and buffalo chicken rangoon crafted by Russell Morin Catering & Events whet everyone’s appetite as they mingled and flipped through the pages of our 2018 issue. Lush floral arrangements in vibrant spring hues and soaring areca palms designed by Sayles Livingston Design softened the space making guests feels as though they were attending a swanky outdoor soiree in the tropics. Cozy lounge areas mixed with high-top tables from Party Rental LTD offered a variety of places to sit while guests feasted on the ethnic cuisine from each of the serving stations. A retro silver Airstream trailer-turned-mobile-bar by Hive Events offered a whimsical spot to get a refill on cocktails, beer, and wine. Decked out with marquee lights, a reclaimed wood bar, and a comfy seating area — once guests got in they didn’t want to leave! It was the perfect, unexpected touch of nostalgia that completed the night.

Apricot, Greenery & Gold – Color Theory

Inspired by warm colors like apricot and gold and the cacti of California, the Flowers By Semia team hosted a baby shower for one of their own.

Succulents and cacti filled shimmery gold and sleek white vessels, while aloe plants laid loosely on the table creating a raw landscape. Warm climate fruits such as papayas and star fruits added a vibrant pop of color, complimenting the poppies and ranunculus. Many of the floral arrangements were clean and simple featuring one outstanding bloom. ”We basically wanted to take all of the mom-to-be’s favorite things and put them on one table. The poppies were perfection — tissue paper ruffles for days!” Semia exclaimed. Cocktail napkins in gold geometric prints paired perfectly with the gold flatware and textured metal chargers provided by Peterson Party Center. The tables was centered under a large geometric installation like an adult mobile, adding a touch of whimsy to the day.

Boston Ballet Gala

The Boston Ballet Gala… an evening filled with elegant performances, delicious cuisine, and breathtaking décor.

The team at AE Events had the pleasure of coordinating the design team for the 2015 Boston Ballet fundraising gala. Each year the Boston Ballet selects an important dance performance to which the event décor and design is centered around. The 2015 selection was inspired by Lady of the Camellias, a ballet adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas. The Castle at the Boston Park Plaza was filled with rows of mirrored tables from Be Our Guest, reflecting the deep blue lighting above and setting the ambiance for the night. Pillar candles in varying heights illuminated the delicate camellia and baby’s breath that adorned every table. While enjoying various performances guests dined on a delicious dinner prepared by MAX Ultimate Food finished off with petite sweets. “We had a dream team of vendors for this event. As a whole we worked together to make the Boston Ballet Ball an evening to remember,” Mindy Home of AE Events describes.
