Dusty Rose & Lavender — Color Theory

As summer meets fall, dusty rose and lavender hues set the tone for this vintage-inspired wedding at The Lenox in Boston.

Alicia knew from the beginning that she wanted a muted color palette to play up the sophisticated, vintage-inspired look she was going for. “The Lenox Hotel, which prides itself on being “The Original Boutique Hotel,” was just dripping in class and old-fashion style. It was the ideal backdrop for the intimate wedding we were looking to create,” Alicia described. Natural light flooded the ballroom from the breathtaking dome glass ceiling above. Silver embroidered lace linen shimmered in the light making the bouquets of dahlias and roses glisten on every table. The color story continued with the bridesmaids and the adorable flower girl in their dusty rose gowns. A vision in white, Alicia completed the beauty of the bridal party in a classic Monique Lhuillier wedding gown.

Modern Art — Real Wedding

Surrounded by famous works of art, Jeanna and Dan tied the knot at the famous Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

Jeanna and Dan had two things mind when they met with their event designer Mindy Home of AE Events; they loved black and white and wanted a modern, artistic floral design to enhance the museum. “Our favorite part of this wedding was pulling some non-traditional elements into the space that many couples would have been scared to try. Luckily, Jeanna was excited to work with design elements like mirrored tables, ombré flowers and striped napkins. It really helped to create a truly personalized look for them,” Mindy recalled. Two floral topiaries in silver urns surrounded by pillar candles formed an entrance to the ceremony area thanks to the talents of Marc Hall Design. Oversized candelabras anchored each row of seating warming the gallery with their soft glow. In another gallery, mirrored tables were accompanied by ghost chairs. Ombré flowers lined the tables and were juxtaposed with black and white stripped napkins. Knowing that Jeanna and Dan will forever be able to show their kids where they got married was the icing on the cake.

European Panache — Real Wedding

An intimate black tie affair exudes European elegance at the Glen Manor House in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

Delaware natives John and Jen stumbled upon the Glen Manor House while on their hunt for the perfect venue that reminded them of Italy. While they couldn’t orchestrate a destination wedding in Italy, they still wanted to bring that warmth and romance to a destination in the states and Glen Manor had everything they had hoped for. Greenlion Designs transformed the venue into an Italian villa with sprawling greens and wine-hued flora placed on mantles and tables to look as if they had been growing there for years. A five-course dinner prepared by Blackstone Caterers featured traditional Italian fare such as monkfish, roasted rapini, and pappardelle in a forest mushroom cream sauce. “The Glen Manor House provided a perfect backdrop for all of the gorgeous arrangements designed by the uber-talented Kim Lamothe at Greenlion Designs. Blackstone Caterers and Rentals Unlimited worked hand-in-hand to set up and serve a truly atmospheric dinner and it was all captured masterfully by our photographer, Rebecca Arthurs,” Jen raved.

Rustic Charm — Real Wedding

Rustic charm was defined by the transformation of the Barns at Wesleyan Hills after adding a few crystal chandeliers and sheer draping…

The most valuable piece of advice Kim and Steve received was “stay true to yourselves as a couple.” As soon as they stepped into The Barns at Wesleyan Hills they knew it was perfect for them. “It felt organic and represented who we are as a couple,” Kim reminisced. Looking beautiful in her Hayley Paige gown from The White Dress By The Shore, Kim made her way down the aisle to meet her groom under a flower-covered arch. Personal touches like her bouquet being wrapped with fabric from her mother’s wedding dress and her flower girls being pulled in an antique wagon that her late grandfather gave her as a child made the ceremony unforgettable. The barn was dressed with elegant white draping and sparkling chandeliers, softening the exposed wood that surrounded them. Guests feasted on the culinary creations of the Connecticut Wedding Group and danced the night away.
