Art of Imagination

Art of Imagination — A canopy of hanging greenery and creamy flora create a magical garden inside a famous sculpture museum.

Molly and Max both had strong family roots in the artistic world. There was no doubt in either of their minds that the museum would be the perfect place to get married. Giving Marc Hall and his team little direction as to what they wanted, they created a floral design that enhanced the museum by bringing the outdoors inside. Delicate vines, branches, and flora hung from the ceiling creating a lush canopy. Tiny glass vessels lit by candles glowed warmly completing the indoor magical garden. “Our wedding planners, Nicole Simeral and Chelsea Bates, were an enormous help in making sure everything felt intimate and personal to us. When we learned my dad could not travel to the wedding due to illness, they brilliantly found a way to FaceTime him into the ceremony by attaching a phone to the Chuppah. Seeing my dad during the ceremony is one of my favorite memories from the day and something only Nicole and Chelsea could make happen,” Molly reminisced.

Iris, Cream, and Silver

Iris and cream hues that were represented in the Public Garden in Boston paired with pops of silver inspired this city-chic wedding.

The Ritz Carlton, Boston Common has striking floor to ceiling windows that overlook the gardens so they wanted a theme and color story that added to the historic beauty of the venue. A modern meets classic theme was defined by a sophisticated palette of iris purple, shimmering silver, and pops of cream. “We wanted to create a sophisticated and elegant feel that complemented the venue. Lighting and candlelight made a huge impact in adding warmth to the overall feel. Touches of bling showed the couple’s fun, playful side,” Tasha Bracken of SD Events recalled. Vibrant purple lighting illuminated the ballroom and made the creamy white floral spheres that decorated every table look as if they were glowing. Guests feasted on a delicious dinner served by The Ritz and danced the night away.

Ombre Purple and Emerald Green

Ombre purple pops against cream and emerald green in the new event space at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.

The bride loved the regal elegance of purple and being that it was an autumn wedding, she chose aborigine as the focal hue. Olive trees emerged from glass vases that were set upon long farm tables, while smaller floral arrangements in various shades of purple and cream were scattered throughout providing depth and color. Purple wine glasses served as a fun pop to the table and matched the linen napkins perfectly. The table design continued onto the walls of the event space thanks to the talented lighting design of Ormonde Productions. “The New Bedford Whaling Museum offers such a unique setting. The reception took place in the new addition overlooking the harbor. The views from the two decks were spectacular — it was the icing on the cake!” exclaimed the mother of the bride and event planner, Kathy Sheridan. Guests feasted on a delicious dinner crafted by Russell Morin Catering & Events before dancing the night away!
