Industrial Glam – A Styled Shoot

The raw elements of the Waterfire Arts Center juxtaposed with fresh green foliage & modern décor created an ethereal vibe for this industrial glam styled shoot.

Bright natural light flooded the preserved industrial framework of the former rubber manufacturing facility, bouncing off the exposed steel beams and weathered bricks. The raw authenticity and muted colors of the space inspired Karen Taddei of Lilacs to choose her signature green and white floral palette with pops of burgundy and silver accents. “This was a natural palette not to compete with, but respect. The simplicity of the green pear branches turning burgundy with the season combined with the acid green viburnum and hanging amaranthus infused the industrial space with fresh beauty,” Karen described. An airy canopy of chiffon draping and three beaded chandeliers designed by floated above the zinc-top table, softening the space with warmth and romance.

“The draping installation combined with the beaded chandeliers over the tables added a dreamy, airy quality that was illuminated by the gorgeous light that streamed through the large windows. We kept the look flowing and romantic with a touch of drama to soften the space,” Christen of Ryan Designs described.

Soaring arrangements of earthy, autumn-kissed branches and hanging flora in silver fluted vases added a touch of drama while the clean lines of the transparent ghost chairs completed the modern look. The bouquets and headpieces were designed with lush peonies, ranunculus, and sweet pea to reflect the romanticism of the Midsummer’s Night inspired fashions from Modern Trousseau.

Raw-edged paper painted with icy blue watercolor by The Paper Perfectionist embodied the industrial glam vision flawlessly.

Mouth-watering tempura lobster & duck confit nuggets drizzled in blueberry bbq sauce crafted by Russell Morin Catering & Events.

Lemon lilac petit four topped with a mini macaron crafted by Emily Bridges, Pastry Chef at Russell Morin Catering & Events made the perfect bite-sized treat.

yours truly, Gingham — A Styled Shoot

A styled shoot unbounded by tradition and inspiring brides to create a wedding that is uniquely theirs.

When Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the Shore first set eyes on the black and white gingham silk taffeta gown designed by Carolina Herrera as it graced the runway during bridal market she couldn’t wait create an entire wedding look centered on that one bold print. “When we began discussing the editorial shoot at the Copper Beach Inn, the premise was personalization and making your wedding your own – what better way to show this than with a bold black and white gown?!” Beth exclaimed. The classic checker print, which was carried out through the stationery too, was artfully juxtaposed with other geometric prints and bright floral arrangements, infusing color into the black and white palette. The attire provided the perfect backdrop for the textural bouquets of deep pink, magenta, and marigold blooms. Each daringly bold design element, including three adorably fluffy kittens, pieced together flawlessly and cohesively to create a look that was sophisticated and embodied a touch southern glamour.

“I wanted to play up the whimsy of pattern, so I dressed the flower girl in a striped dress and incorporated a pin dot into the pocket square of the groom’s attire” – Beth Chapman

Captivating Beauty at The Chanler

Secret garden elegance meets refined vintage glamour for this styled shoot tucked away at The Chanler on the Newport Cliff Walk.

Rich with history, The Chanler embodies old world elegance with its opulent architecture and gilded décor. The back lawn with its vast ocean views was the perfect canvas for an elegant, garden-like display of floral extravagance. Forgoing the traditional rectangular trellis, Sayles Livingston and her team at Sayles Livingston Design covered a circular trellis in peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, sweet peas, hydrangea, lemon leaf, eucalyptus, and ferns creating a romantic setting for the ceremony site that overlooked the ocean. The soft, neutral palette allowed Beth Chapman of the White Dress by the Shore to style the bridal party in rich, jewel tones and sumptuous textures like fur a gold embossed bridal gown as a nod to the autumn season. The entrance to the back trellis was draped with stormy-gray linens laced with greenery evoking a secret garden-like vibe as you walked up the steps. Crystal chandeliers floated above a traditional wooden table that was draped with a shadow gray velvet runner topped with lush flora that cascaded down to the stone patio creating a look of effortless luxury.
