Stormy Grey & Blue – Color Theory

There is a distinct beauty in stormy weather and the colors that emerge are nothing short of spectacular.

Rachael Sirois of Farrissey Floral Design drew inspiration from the surrounding sea views and rich whaling history of The New Bedford Whaling Museum to create the perfect setting for a wedding in the newly opened Harbor View Gallery. A solid wood table was decorated with glass pedestals overflowing with white peonies and greenery which were made to look as if they were blowing in the ocean breeze. “No detail went uninspired. Our use of glass elements throughout the tablescape gave a nod to the local history and glass museum around the corner. We especially loved the Del’s Lemonade cupcakes made by Russell Morin Catering and Events. This wedding shoot was inspired not only by the colors of stormy seas, but by the rich culture of New Bedford and the timeless romance evoked by the local history,” Rachael described.

Glamour & Grace — A Styled Shoot

A styled shoot inspired by the glamour and over-the-top fashions of the Triple Crown races.

Stephanie, the lead event planner at Jaclyn Watson Events had a vision.  “I imagined a southern belle with a bold red lip sitting in the back of a vintage Rolls Royce, driving up a dirt road lined by ancient trees. As it opens up, the white plantation with its large porch and beautiful columns glow in the sunlight. From the open front doors she can see straight through her childhood home’s foyer to the vast backyard where she will marry her love,” Stephanie describes. The vision was brought to life under a beautiful Chase Canopy tent set on the lawn of an elegant Connecticut farm. White chiffon draping created an ethereal summer vibe, softening the rustic farm table and cobblestone floor. Large palm fronds in all shapes and sizes mixed with white flora filled a tall gold urn in the center of the table. A beautiful presentation of southern favorites prepared by Forks & Fingers graced each plate. The day concluded with a delectable array of desserts.
