Ombre Purple and Emerald Green

Ombre purple pops against cream and emerald green in the new event space at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.

The bride loved the regal elegance of purple and being that it was an autumn wedding, she chose aborigine as the focal hue. Olive trees emerged from glass vases that were set upon long farm tables, while smaller floral arrangements in various shades of purple and cream were scattered throughout providing depth and color. Purple wine glasses served as a fun pop to the table and matched the linen napkins perfectly. The table design continued onto the walls of the event space thanks to the talented lighting design of Ormonde Productions. “The New Bedford Whaling Museum offers such a unique setting. The reception took place in the new addition overlooking the harbor. The views from the two decks were spectacular — it was the icing on the cake!” exclaimed the mother of the bride and event planner, Kathy Sheridan. Guests feasted on a delicious dinner crafted by Russell Morin Catering & Events before dancing the night away!

Crimson Reds and Glistening Gold

Crimson reds and glistening gold symbolize romance and grandeur for this traditional Hindu weddings at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel.

Upon first glance of the ballroom, Anjali knew she wanted something elaborate, grand, and regal. Having no particular color theme in mind, Anjali looked to her event planner Alexis, from Unique Weddings by Alexis to aid her in finding the right talent for every detail of her wedding. Rich, crimson red and dark pink rose petals and white votive candles lined the aisle leading up to two white and gold tufted chairs where the bride and groom were to be married. Magnificent gold urns were bursting with an abundance of red roses surrounded the chairs. In the reception area, smaller arrangements of roses perched upon gold candelabras and laced with crystals decorated every table. Many votive candles were scattered throughout the ballroom creating a warm and romantic ambiance. “The bold and rich color palette complimented by the twinkle from the crystal accents was the perfect fit for the bride’s playful and sparkling personality,” Alexis described.

Aquamarine, Plum, and Burgundy

Aquamarine, plum, and burgundy blend to create a sleek and sophisticated ambiance with a touch of whimsy for this wedding at the New England Aquarium.

Inspired by the water and marine life surrounding them, Craig and Michael chose aqua blue as their main color and looked to their event planner, Edna Dratch-Parker of EFD Creative to help with the accent colors. Collaboratively, they chose burgundy tones which complimented the cool blues of the aquarium. “The colors we chose threaded themselves through everything. No detail was too small from the save the dates and the stamps on envelopes to our signature cocktail (turquoise of course) to the table cloths, napkins, and water glasses. This integration was something that everyone kept pointing out and we could never have pulled it off had we not had EFD Creative involved,” Craig explained. The event space at the aquarium was filled with floral sculptures in rich burgundy tones mixed with cream for added depth. Even the naturally occurring bubbles in the plum goblets mimicked the surroundings of the aquarium!
