Cool-toned pastels enhance the light & airy feel of an exquisitely restored barn in the majestic Catskill Mountains.
This styled shoot is the beautiful result of a multi-year family effort to restore The Sablewood at Highview Springs. The organic beauty of the barn was preserved, but the 50+ oversized windows that were added is what makes this event space truly unique. For the shoot, a palette of cool, dusty pastels were used to enhance the airiness of the sun-drenched barn. Exposed hand-hewn beams were softened by billowy cream chiffon. In-house farm tables were lined with a linear garland of chiffon and fresh greenery. Gilded candelabras added warmth to the table, complementing the massive 100 year-old chandelier that hangs above. Metal chairs and crystal place-settings completed the table décor with a modern twist. “This shoot was inspired by the barn itself and the launch of this luxurious new venue. Our goal was to create a timeless look with dusty neutrals that enhanced the raw beauty of the old post and beam structure,” Lisa Shaul of The Sablewood described.
