1. How did your business come to be?
The Hotel Viking was originally built by local mansion owners as well as the local community over 90 years ago to house their high- society summer guests who traveled from New York City to attend lavish parties at their magnificent homes, but had nowhere to sleep! Over the years we have evolved into a beautiful, historic hotel which offers the perfect romantic, gilded-age backdrop for weddings and social events.
2. What are the services you offer?
We are a full service hotel offering fabulous event spaces for weddings and social events, including an on-site chapel, as well as an incredible spa, lounge and restaurant, rooftop bar, and indoor pool.
3. Where are you located and how far will you travel to provide your service?
We are located in the heart of Newport, RI sometimes referred to as America’s “city by the sea”. We are conveniently located close to the Newport Harbor, beaches, shops, restaurants, bars, and the famous Newport Mansions.
4. How far in advance do you recommend clients to book?
For high season weekend dates we recommend booking at least a year out but always call us to check if your wedding is within 12 months because we have a few open weekends left in 2017.
5. What is one piece of advice you always give to brides?
Stay organized! The more organized you are, the less stressful and more enjoyable the planning process will be. Also, rely on the talented and experienced vendors you’ve selected for ideas and suggestions to make your day truly memorable.
