Vendor Spotlight is on Jodi Raphael Events; a Boston-based event firm that takes care of every event detail from concept to execution.
1. How did your business come to be?
At the beginning of my career I was a producer at a local television station in Boston. When I left I was producing 22 hours of live tv. Events are similar to live television in that I only get one chance to get it right… there are no “do overs”. I then went to work for both an entertainment company and a corporate event company. I felt as if clients needed more personal, one on one attention and that is how and why I started my business. I walk our clients through the whole process from choosing a venue to entertainment, menu and design. They know that they have an advocate in me and my company- a friend and a partner. I also help with family dynamics and the situations that can arise with many family members involved.
2. What are the services you offer?
We offer full event/wedding planning and coordination in addition to month of/day of coordination. Basically we will do what it takes to help a bride/host plan a memorable and fabulous event.
3. Where are you located and how far will you travel to provide your services?
We are in Newton, Ma and will travel to wherever the event is- all over New England and beyond. We often work with couples who are out of town and planning to have their wedding in Boston or the same scenario with parents who are out of town.
4. How far in advance do you recommend clients to book?
As soon as they are ready to start the planning process, but a year out is typical.
5. What is one piece of advice you always give brides?
I tell brides that they need to hire a professional to take some of the stress off of them and to avoid making expensive mistakes and then to trust the pros to do their job- so they can enjoy their day!
