Vendor Spotlight is on Newport Vineyards; wine lover or not, the vineyard provides a beautifully unique landscape for any kind of event.
1. How did your business come to be?
On the heals of the 20th Anniversary of Newport Vineyards, owners John and Paul Nunes embarked on a multi-million dollar expansion of the 30,000 sq foot facility which brought the addition of our Meadow Room events venue, along with Brix Restaurant, the Vineyard Café, a new Marketplace store, and a full in-house catering kitchen. We had always hosted smaller private events, however since the expansion we host about 100 private events each year from intimate rehearsal dinners or showers, to wedding receptions, birthday parties, post-wedding brunches or corporate events.
2. What are the services you offer?
We host any type of private event, from showers, to post-wedding brunches, wedding ceremonies and receptions, rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, family reunions, corporate events, you name it! We also offer private tours and tastings, a full public events series, two restaurants and wine of course! For our catered private events, we offer seasonal, from scratch in-house catering menus for all our private events. Being a vineyard we are an agriculture business, we are farmers – so our chef takes the farm-to-table philosophy very seriously. For instance, we don’t use tomatoes out of season, so for our calzones served in the Café our chef will make a “No-Mato” sauce, derived from other root vegetables. It’s delicious and many of our guests prefer it over the traditional tomato sauce! We also have full in-house catering team, event coordinators, reception tables and chairs, on-site parking and a pre-wedding room for couples 1-hour prior to their ceremony.
3. Where are you located and how far will you travel to provide your service?
We are located just 5 minutes outside of Newport, on Rte 138 in Middletown, RI. Guests appreciate the location as it is easy access from MA, and other points of RI. There’s ample on-site parking and a wide range of hotels near by.
4. How far in advance do you recommend clients to book?
It depends on the event, most of our weddings book 1-year to 18-months prior. Showers and rehearsal dinners are anytime between 6 months to 1 year. Don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us, whether it’s a short-lead or planning two years in advance, our team will get back to you promptly!
5. What is one piece of advice you always give to brides?
Just show up, relax and let us take care of it all, it’s time to celebrate – we’ll have a glass of wine ready for you! Cheers!
