Smokey Purple, Sand, and Copper – Color Theory

Embracing autumn and all its rich, smokey hues, the Flowers By Semia team created a magical atmosphere in Providence.

In Kendra’s favorite season, at their favorite hotel in Providence, Chris popped the question. From that moment, they knew it would be a city-chic wedding with a touch of bohemian flair in October. “Flowers by Semia, truly brought our vision to life. Behind our dessert table, they created a backdrop that was breathtaking in its originality and ability to showcase the gorgeous floral and color palette. It was the perfect culmination of all the different colors, textures, and materials of our wedding into one display,” Kendra raved. Each table lent itself to its own unique décor. Unexpected design elements like antlers were paired with botanicals and bark. Geodes served as table numbers and agate slices were used as escort cards. Even the invitation suite designed by Paper Perfectionist set the tone of the day perfectly with a watercolor bohemian-floral motif.

Mountain Muse – A White Mountains Wedding

Michael and Dan tie the knot amidst the beauty surrounding the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa.

Mountain View Grand Resort is located in the majestic White Mountains of New Hampshire, lending itself to incredible views. Michael and Dan had a classic autumn wedding surrounded by the foliage kissed White Mountains. Not wanting their décor to compete with the colors of nature that surrounded them, Michael and Dan chose a classic color palette of white and gold. The gazebo where the ceremony was held was anchored by two oversized urns that were bursting with pure white lilies. Inside the resort, crisp white linens were decorated with tall gold candelabras holding white and green floral arrangements. “The wedding coordinator at Mountain View Grand, Susan Powell, was instrumental in helping us with the food choices, table arrangements, and timeline of the day. She really did a great job,” Michael raved. “It was the perfect place for friends and family to come together and celebrate our wedding.”

Vendor Spotlight On: Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa

The Vendor Spotlight is on Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa; a historic property set in the majestic White Mountains of New Hampshire.

1. How did your business come to be?

On a dark and stormy spring night in 1865, a stagecoach traveling from Boston to Montreal bumped and plodded northward along what is now Route 3. The going grew steadily worse until, near the intersection of what is now Mountain View Road and Route 3, the coach hit a mud hole and tipped onto its side. As the two passengers crawled out, the driver recommended they walk a half mile up the then dirt road where he was sure there was a farm house.

Perhaps the farmers would take them in for the night. The wet and weary travelers made their way through the driving rain to the home of William and Mary Jane Dodge, who not only took them in and gave them a snug place to sleep, but provided a hearty farm breakfast.

The guests enjoyed the hospitality of the Dodges and the majestic 360-degree views that they implored their hosts to let them stay for a few more days. Before they left, the passengers made sure that they would be welcome to return for several weeks the following summer. During that extended stay, the Dodges became convinced that other tourists would enjoy their hospitality as well, and in the summer of 1866, they officially opened the Mountain View House.
