After yet another exciting NY bridal fashion week, Beth Chapman of Beth Chapman Styling and The White Dress By The Shore highlights all the trends fresh off the runway and heading to her boutique in Clinton, CT!
B.C: I have said it before, but it really holds true now…what a great time to be a bride! There is literally a gown for EVERY bride and I am thrilled because so many of the trends are everything that I adore in bridal! Below are some of my favorite trends coming up for the Fall 2018 season!
Non-strapless! — Brides are rejoicing everywhere, because it is all about the NON-strapless neckline. The most predominate necklines that we saw were v-necks and off the shoulder necklines. The v-necklines varied from demure and classic to plunging and daring.
Bows – I would put a bow on every gown if I could! So naturally, I was thrilled to see bows grace so many runways!
Capes, Cover-ups, and Overskirts– Designers are providing brides with various options to allow them to change up their look from ceremony to reception. Whether it is a dramatic cape, a voluminous overskirt, or a dainty caplet, brides have plenty of options for surprising their guests with a “second look” without having to change their gown!
Appliques – We saw considerably less lace this season. The texture instead came from appliqués. I adore this romantic and feminine detail!
Clean and Simple– Many designers were cleansing the palate by offering completely clean dresses (and jumpsuits!). The details came from beautiful necklines, seaming details or bows!
Fringe! One of the biggest fashion elements that appeared on several runways was fringe. What a fun way to add a little sass to your wedding day look!
One Shoulder- The one shoulder gown is back! I love this sophisticated look for a modern, elegant wedding.
Stay tuned for more bridal fashion week highlights!
