The Wedding Brander™ herself, Edna Dratch-Parker of EFD Creative-Event Planning & Design chats with us about how her design brand came to be!
1. How did your business come to be?
My background is in art. I graduated from Maine College of Art, so thinking about design is really part of who I am and how I approach everything. I saw there was an opportunity to help couples take a more design-driven approach to their weddings, to bring their own personality into one of life’s most important occasions. From my point of view, design and planning should be fused together from very start.
There is no shortage of interest in people wanting to express their own style – look at all the
reality TV shows focused on design! Even though the internet has made it easy to pin favorites
and share the best design ideas in the world, understanding what these options might mean for your wedding, and how to create your own vision by successfully incorporating the best design elements can be overwhelming. I wanted to help with this process and parlay my experiences as professional designer, marketer, and event planner to help couples create a more personalized wedding experience – what I call wedding branding. This approach is how The Wedding Brander ™ came to life.
2. What are the services you offer?
With decades of experience we bring from the design world – from fashion to advertising to event planning – EFD Creative has a unique perspective in the wedding industry. We create personalized, designed weddings and influence a whole new category of wedding branding.
3. Where are you located and how far are you willing to travel to provide your services?
EFD Creative is located in the South End of Boston serving all of New England and beyond!
4. How far in advance do you recommend clients to book?
6 months to a year is ideal, but we can accommodate a shorter timeline if necessary.
5. What is one piece of advice you always give to brides?
It can be easy to get overwhelmed – getting married is such an emotional and exciting time – but it’s also important to keep it all in perspective. I always tell my couples – remember, it’s about the love! It’s about celebration! And no matter what, we always can find a solution to the problem.
