1. How did your business come to be?
The original four-story building was constructed in 1854 as a private residence and was once home to David Sisson and his son, Henry Sisson, a civil war hero. It was converted to an inn during the 1920s and an old tap room remains in the basement that was once a speakeasy during the Prohibition.
The Stone House recently underwent comprehensive renovations costing an estimated $12 million incorporating many green technologies including a geothermal heating and cooling system. The Stone House was also named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
The property features spacious and well-appointed guest rooms and suites, a restaurant, and a private beach. There is also a renovated barn on the grounds that features guest rooms and a beautiful function space with an outdoor terrace and gorgeous water views.

5. What is one piece of advice you always give to brides?
The advice we always give our brides is to book your wedding venue first in the planning process, as most venues typically book 1-2 years out. Once you have your wedding venue secured, everything else will fall into place.
