A tent is a blank canvas. You have the ability to make it is as fancy or as casual as you want. Whether your tent is the back-up plan in case it rains or the main event, Sperry Tents has one you are sure to love.
1. Tell us the history of Sperry Tents.
Sperry Tents began in 1979, when founder Steve Sperry was invited to a neighborhood party. A sailmaker who designed sails and marine canvas for South Coast boat owners, Steve decided to apply his skills to something a little different: he constructed his own party tent. From this first prototype, Sperry Tents was born, and a revolution in event tent aesthetics began. In 1996, Steve’s son, Tim, took over ownership and has since grown the company from one rental office in Mass. into a large family of licensed providers across the country and abroad.
2. Do you offer a variety of sizes? If so, what are they?
Yes, Sperry Tents are available in a wide range of sizes, from 24- or 32-foot rounds for cocktails and lounge areas to larger, more expansive ovals that can accommodate both dinner and dancing. When guest counts rise, couples and planners rely on the largest available Sperry Tents, including the biggest: the 66’ x 126’, whose setup involves 10 center poles and 344 perimeter poles. And for something a little unique, couples enjoy our signature blue star tents, which are crafted from navy sailcloth and dotted with white stars.
3. Do you have a permanent tent at any local venues?
The makers of Sperry Tents, Sperry Fabric Architecture, are fabulous designers: their creations are no less than fabric masterpieces. Besides Sperry Tents for rent, they also design and construct seasonal and year-long installations for luxurious venues wedding across Southern New England, an exclusive list that includes Willowdale Estate, Castle Hill Inn, Newport Yachting Center, and Wequassett Resort and Golf Club.
