Printed Bridesmaid Gowns

BLISS Celebrations Guide Trend Report: Printed Bridesmaid Gowns

Incorporating printed bridesmaid gowns into your bridal party is a growing trend that the BLISS team loves! Brides have been mixing hemlines, sleeve lengths, and colors for a few seasons now, but this new addition of prints takes the bridal party to a whole other level of awesome. Break the monochromatic tradition and add a touch of whimsy to your wedding day! Try mixing printed gowns with textured gowns; just remember to keep it in the same color story so the overall look stays classy and cohesive.

We’ve rounded up our favorites by Donna Morgan which are available at The White Dress By The Shore.

Kentucky Huntsman

This one-of-a-kind Kentucky Huntsman theme was inspired by the bride’s home state roots, Kentucky. Monika and Andrew created a refined woodsy vibe by choosing a subtle color palette of blush, slate, and sage that softened the rustic room where their reception took place. “It was partly my blush colored dress and my love for peonies that brought in the light pink, the pops of green from our love of the outdoors, and the bourbon barrels, and wood inspired rustic doors,” Monika explained. Their event planner and designer, Amy Cagginello of Amy Champagne Events created the perfect setting with details such as a bourbon tasting bar and escort cards that were made from mini Maker’s Mark bottles. The long farm tables were adorned with votive size floral arrangements in creamy blush hues, deer antlers, and silver mercury glass vessels that added warmth to the table. The watercolor cake topped with matching sugar flowers was the perfect finishing touch to a more than perfect day.

Summer Picnic Wedding

Set on the groom’s family farm, this summer picnic themed wedding was brought to life with an upbeat color palette of cheerful yellow and cornflower blue. Michelle Neff of Dreaming Tree Events incorporated this color story into every detail of the day, from the lemons that served as escort cards, to the blue fans (which also served as the wedding program) provided to the guests for the ceremony. In true picnic fashion, the bride and groom chose to serve authentic homemade pies in a variety of delicious flavors rather than the traditional wedding cake. Old-fashioned pie stands were surrounded with wooden crates and wire baskets filled with lemons creating a rustic yet cheerful vibe for the dessert table. The bride & grooms hopes of bringing out the brightness and joy of the day was a wonderful success in every way imaginable.

8 Extra Items To Pack For Your Honeymoon

museum_0001

You’ve been so caught up with the wedding, you almost forgot: Immediately afterward, you leave for your honeymoon — and you have no idea what to pack. Here, to make it a much easier task, we’ve pulled together a packing checklist with the “extras” — the special must-have items you want to have, but might forget. Our advice? Pack the weekend before the big day.

1. AN OUTFIT FOR YOUR FIRST NIGHT OUT. It’s your first meal as dinner out as a married couple and you’ll want to commemorate it right.

2. PRETTY LINGERIE. Even if it’s just a comfy new bathrobe, you’ll be glad you splurged on something pretty and romantic just for you.

3. A PORTABLE SPEAKER. Depending on where you’re traveling, you may have Wifi, but no easy way to listen to music. A portable speaker makes it a breeze to amplify the playlist from your wedding as you reminisce. Pack a cheap one in your bag.

4. BOOKS. You won’t be mooning over each other the whole time. Pack a couple of “his” and “her” riveting reads for when you’re lounging beside the pool.

5. LUGGAGE TAGS. Seriously, nothing is worse than losing your bags en route to Paris–and trying to locate them so your travels can begin.

6. PHONE CHARGERS. And international power adapters depending on where your honeymoon travels may take you.

7. WORK OUT CLOTHES. If it’s part of your regular routine, you don’t have to make an exception just because you’re supposed to be totally relaxed on this trip.

8. A PAIR OF SHOES YOU LOVE. Practicality rules, but you should also splurge on something that’s fun and unique for this trip (just be sure to stash some extra band-aids, too).
