There are so many details you need to take care of the week before the wedding. That’s why we asked Em Devaud, founder of Em Devaud Events, for her advice on the best way to ensure you (and your family members) stay organized ahead of the big day. Here’s her #1 tip:
Put together a timeline and schedule a few months in advance. Having an appropriate game plan for the wedding weekend early on and communication this to your venue, band or DJ ensures that your vendors are all in alignment for your wedding prep. This includes “busy work” like putting together playlists (and do not playlists) ahead of time, making general guest table assignments and checklists to ensure all your details are finalized. This is also where having a planner comes in handy. However, if the bride chooses to not hire a planner, make sure there’s a point person for the last month of planning that little questions can be sent to in order to keep the bride relaxed and happy! For example, an aunt who wants a job for the wedding or a close (and organized) friend can be a great option for this.
