Earthy greens and brilliant bordeaux, pop against the industrial nature of the Steelyard and Flowers By Semia Studio Space.
Wanting to look back on her wedding as if it were a dream, Stephanie of Stephanie Gallo Designs drew her initial inspiration from lights. Candles illuminated every surface and cafe lights were strung about creating a surreal environment and softening this industrial space. Details of gold and glitter made the venue sparkle. The rest of her inspiration was drawn from the exposed brick, steel beams, and antique furniture that made up this venue. Cacti and succulents provided the first pop of color and also added another layer of texture to the overall design. “I loved juxtaposing the soft vintage colors and textures with a louder geometric pattern and touch of gold glitter. I also loved using materials straight out of my home; little bird statues, dining chairs and coffee table, vintage found objects nestled around, and succulents and cacti. It made it more personal and we also have these materials to look at everyday to be reminded of that day.” Stephanie introduced lush aubergines, bordeaux reds, and soft grays and greens to her color palette through her floral selection and was the final decision she made in the design process.
