There are some exciting things happening over at Russell Morin Catering & Events! We recently had the opportunity to chat with their team about what their company is all about and what’s to come.
1. Russell Morin Catering & Events has branched out beyond catering over the last few years. Tell us more about these changes and what else is down the pipeline for the company.
The past several years Russell Morin Catering & Events has gone through a healthy amount of growth in several regions and markets in which we have a presence around southern New England. We facilitated a rebranding reflecting a slight name change and launched a new website to encompass what it is our company has become. We are not just a catering company, but a resource for our current and future clients. Not only do we have an extensive wealth of knowledge when it comes to creating delicious and thoughtful menus, but a lifetime of experience in what it takes to plan and execute a successful wedding or special event. Combine these facts with the venues that we operate exclusively and the longer list of venues with whom we have very strong relations, and the result is a catering and events company with the resources to place a potential client at a venue that fits their particular taste while in the same conversation, create a custom event or wedding proposal.
2. What are some of the venues where you are a preferred vendor? Are there any that are exclusive to your services?
The key to our recent growth is the way we have purposefully designed our sales and event planning experience to maintain a personal and intimate process for our clients. Instead of looking at our organization as one large company, we view it as multiple smaller brands. Each and every exclusive venue has its own internal mission as they are all philanthropic, not for profit, organizations, each with its own inherent characteristics and with that we deliver a unique experience to each client. The New Bedford Whaling Museum with views of the harbor, Shining Tides on the shore of Mattapoisett, The Providence Public Library located in downtown, Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard, and The Newport Art Museum are all exclusive venues that each have their its own personality and offer something completely different from the latter for each client. A bride interested in The Newport Art Museum might not have a vision for her wedding that would fit Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, RI and vice versa. This has been the most fruitful area of opportunity for our organization, and we plan on continuing our focus on these exclusive venues and keep our eyes and ears open to other opportunities that may present themselves. Along with the venue at which we are exclusive, we continue to support all of the other venues of which we are on a short or long list of caterers. With the same thought process, each venue has its own identity, and we are sensitive to their needs. We always have and always will do whatever we can to support any venue at which we host events.
