The Palm, now located in the Financial District of Boston, is a beautiful restaurant that hosts weddings and other events, large or small. The Palm was, and still is, a family owned company that dates back to 1926 when they opened their first location in New York City. Their philosophy is simple yet effective; treat guests like family, serve great food, and always exceed expectations. BLISS had a chance to catch up with the sales manager, Lauren Pariseau, and ask her a few questions regarding the latest food trends and most common requests from brides.
What is the most current trend in passed hors d’oeuvres for a wedding? For us, our most popular trend in passed hors d’oeuvres is packing a lot of flavor into one bite, using fresh, seasonal flavors combined with either local seafood, produce, and our prime beef. At our last wedding, we tray passed skewers of lobster tempura with a Thai chili aioli and during a more recent cocktail reception we offered a sweet indulgence with Key lime pie push pops. When you’re at a fabulous party, celebrating with friends and family there is so much going on between the cocktail you’re carrying, posing for photos, and exchanging hugs, that you want to be able to eat without having to juggle.
When consulting with the bride are there a signature dishes you always suggest? Are they offered on The Palm’s regular restaurant menu or just catering? Most of our signature dishes are available through our regular dinner menu, which we love. With the history and reputation of the Palm stretching back to 1926, the guests coming to the wedding already know they are in for an over-the-top experience. If you really want your guests raving about your wedding food for years to come, our classic Palm Surf & Turf is an absolute must. Whether you choose to pair the half jumbo three pound lobster with a tender filet mignon or juicy, prime New York Strip, you really can’t go wrong.
Does The Palm have a signature cocktail for weddings? If so, what is the recipe? If not, do brides ever ask you to create a signature cocktail for their wedding? Our cocktail menu offers a plethora of specialty cocktails, many created by Palm bartenders from a variety of our locations, which are always available for inspiration. We like to give a bit of creative license to our brides, as a specialty cocktail should be a representation of the couple, the season of the wedding, and of course, what they like to drink! We are happy to pair the couple up with one of our resident bartenders for guidance or ideas, and of course samples.
