From Maggie, "We decided to do winter white anda neutrals in late October to stray from the overdone fall themed decor. The goal of the event was to showcase the Bee & Thistle Inn and Lounge, launch Slainte Event Planning & Design to industry professionals and to introduce the newly formed ISES Connecticut chapter. Overall it was a successful evening!"
Happy Valentine’s Day, Friends! As we sit here dreaming of springtime, Lena and Jeff’s sweet Blithewold wedding from Aubrey Greene Photography caught our eye for a great post today, when we are thinking pink, dreaming of sunshine, and sharing love.
Take a peek:
From the bride, Lena: “Our wedding was everything we imagined and more. Simply having all of our loved ones there to celebrate with us was the best part. We love spending time with our families and it was very important to us to have an intimate setting where there would be lots of laughter and love. We also share a love for the water and have spent many summer days out on Jeff’s sailboat in Cape Cod, so the logical place to start looking for a wedding location was the Cape. But, when we started looking we found mostly country clubs available and realized that setting didn’t reflect our personalities.
Then we discovered the Rhode Island coast and instantly fell in love with it’s beauty and laid back atmosphere. After visiting several locations, we agreed that Blithewold Mansion had everything we wanted, a beautiful view of the ocean, sprawling green lawns, a serene garden for the ceremony, and the perfect tent for the reception. We could not have been more excited. Our wedding style reflected the beauty of the setting with natural, soft colors. Bridesmaids wore different style dresses made out of chiffon or lace and their colors included light purple, dark purple and light pink. The groomsmen wore light tan suits with pink ties and a touch of green in their boutonnieres. The flowers were natural, yet elegant, including different shades of white and pink peonies and roses.
For the reception we incorporated our nautical style by having large white lanterns as centerpieces on burlap runners. Overall, we were so pleased how everything came together. One of our favorite touches was having framed pictures from wedding days of family members. We wanted to not only celebrate our love, but the love that is created by generations of family. As we danced the night away, we were lucky to get a spectacular sunset that all of our guests could enjoy. In the end, the ceremony was unique and special, the party was full of fabulous dance moves and laughter, and the love was endless. ”
