A New Years Eve Wedding in Boston

We are so excited to share this stunning New Year's Eve wedding at the Exchange Conference Center in Boston with you today, couresty of Briana Moore!  We just love all the little touches, from Meadow's black shrug to the table names of New Year's reolutions, you can just tell how much thought was put into every tiny detail.  Not only that, but they got to toast at midnight under Fireworks in the harbor!

From Briana Moore Photography : "Matt and Meadow's day was stylish, thoughtful, and, above all, celebratory. From vendors to friends, the energy was warm & enthusiastic. What better a New Year’s Resolution is there than committing to the love of your life? 🙂 The couple put a lot of thought into their details (including their NYE resolutions at each table), and they even braved the frigid weather for a few outdoor portraits along the Boston Waterfront. "

Happy New Year from the Bliss team!

New Years Eve Party Ideas

2014 is just 2 days away! We cannot wait for all the good things it has in store, especially the release of our 4th issue in February!  While we are busy bees putting on the finishing touches to the issue, we hope you'll enjoy some of these New Year's Eve inspiration ideas!

The New Year is a completely blank slate. Time to start again with a fresh focus on anything from resolutions to new possibilities.  We thought this would be a totally fun idea for a New Year's Eve Party!  Everything all in white, to let the imagination run wild.

Ideas from top to bottom: Each guest could be seated with a blank piece of slate and chalk at their setting to list their goals for the New Year.  Or, have one large chalk board where guests can write down their resolutions before the festivities start!

White Moet and Chandon bottles are perfect for the occasion!

A bar cart gets gussied up with all white balloons and a neon sign. Like the idea of writing in lights? Check out THIS TUTORIAL on how to create your own marquee lettering.  2014 would be an easy one to do or if you have a little more space and time try "Happy New Year" or "Cheers" or the now infamous Kate Spade "Pop Fizz Clink".

Setting an all white table can be a great way to use eclectic pieces found around your house.  Need more settings? Just call on one of our favorite rental companies! You can find them all listed HERE.

Going all out? A white tent with white linens, chargers, and decor looks crisp and clean.  Decorate with ostrich plumes for an ode to the Art Deco era.  A little more subdued? Try layering white on white with balloons, linens, and desserts.

All white food can be fun and healthy! Get those resolutions started off right.  And don't forget the invitations.  White on White "blind" letterpress is an elegant way to invite your guests to the Blank Slate party.

Need more "blank slate" or all white party inspiration? Check out our 2013 issue's feature on the inWhite Luxury Wedding Collective launch party HERE!

We'd love to hear what your resolutions are, so leave a comment below! Happy New Year!

Massachusetts wedding from Yaritza Colon Photography

Devon and Tyler's beautiful wedding at Quonquont Farm in Whatley, Massachusetts was so full of sweetness and sunshine that we just had to share when photographer Yartiza Colon submitted it to us via Two Bright Lights.  The beauitful apple orchard was the perfect spot to say I do!

From the bride, Devon:

" I wanted a romantic feel to the wedding. I wanted it to be simple but vintage looking and chic. I bought my dress very early on in the planning process because depending on what I fell in love with, would be more of the theme. Quonquont was the first and only place we went to look at. We knew we wanted the ceremony outside and wanted a vintage inspired reception hall. We just fell in love with the grounds and the barn was perfect.

My favorite part of the whole wedding planning was seeing it all come together in the end. I love DIY and am very crafty so I had plenty of ideas that I wanted to incorporate. All the ideas together came out great! I wasn't able to see the tables put together until the day of the wedding. I had buntings that I made to put on tables, the mason jars and the table numbers. Each table had a photo of Tyler and I at that age – I painted the frames and glittered them so they would stand out. It was all so much to do but in the end looked just like I wanted it too. You have all of these ideas in your head, from the way the ceremony will go – to the repection hall feel. You cannot figure out how it will all come together until it does.

A last minute addition was the ceremony musicians. I really wanted live music but wasn't sure if our budget would allow it. After researching it and going through the numbers, I had enough to get them! It was a perfect touch to the ceremony and cocktail hour and was one of my mother's favorite parts.
Going online to find information was the most surprising experience. It was almost to easy! Many vendor's have blog or websites or reviews on wedding sites. It makes making all the decisions easy especially since I was about an hour and a half away from all the vendors. Email and phone calls were exchanged instead of having to go out to western MA every weekend. I made sure to write reviews on all of my vendors because it was so helpful to me and they were all great to work with! I was really worried at first about managing it all but there are so many tools online and information that making the right decisions was quite easy!

My dress was a blush color but when I had tried it on, it looked almost ivory. My skin tone really offset the blush color of it. I remember going to pick it up for the first time, almost a year later and seeing it again. It was next to a bright white dress and I will never forget my nervousness and saying to my sister…"OMG its really pink!" I was so afraid that I made the wrong choice going with something so different – but like all good things, once I put it on I was reassured that it was the right one."
