Thinking about kids parties for this summer that you can have outdoors?  What could be cuter than a wild west themed party for all the little cowgirls and boys?  Easy as pie decor can be created from things like bandanas and old jeans, and can be added to fun rental items like gingham tablecloths and cowhide chairs!  Some ideas:

Have kiddos gather round the "campfire" to unwrap the gifts.

Create a "lasso" game with a hula hoop and a hobby horse.

Find another use for those fun moustaches on sticks we've been seeing lately by using for a little photobooth.

Trail mix is a healthy and easy favor.

Take a peek at some inspiration in these images! Yee-Haw!

Narragansett Nuptials

We love this super casual, toes-in-the-sand wedding at The Towers in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The laid back couple, Carol and Scott, had perfect beachy style and we just had to share the fun photos from Olivia Gird Photography!  Ending the evening with a gelato cart…what could be more perfect?

A note from the bride, Carol.

"We knew immediately that we wanted to have our wedding in Narragansett, where Scott’s family has summered since the 1930s. Scott proposed on the beach, and we wanted our story to continue standing in that same stretch of sand. Planning the outdoor ceremony in the midst of hurricane season was a risk, and though Hurricane Irene swooped through town just two weeks prior, our wedding day was perfect. We live in Denver, Colorado, so all of the planning happened from afar, but working with great vendors made the process smooth and stress-free. Our goal was to create a personal, intimate day that was centered around who and what we love. Starting with the invitations, which were designed and screen-printed by a close friend of the bride’s, we carried a hint of the beach throughout all elements, leading up to the ceremony, which we wrote ourselves, integrating themes from Buddhist and Celtic traditions. Walking barefoot down the aisle, we loved that we chose one of our best friends to officiate the ceremony, as it made every word that much more meaningful and heartfelt."

Summer Splash: Revisited

Revisited from page: 241

We couldn't help but share even more images from our fantastic Palm Springs inspired shoot at The Colonnade Hotel in Boston on this sunny (almost summery) day to inspire all those pool parties that are on the horizon in the season to come!  Bold Tangerine (the color of the year!), vivid yellow, and pops of aqua blue gave our shoot it's distinct 70's flavor (see our Bliss Tip on why we chose 3 colors).  With a mix of found objects, vintage pieces, fresh rentals and playful florals, the retro rooftop design was a true homage to the era.  Click HERE to read more about shoot and our Bliss Tips in our newest issue, or pick up a copy in print!

color story

color palette: splendid seafoam

The pale mint shade of seafoam green is showing up everywhere this spring, and we can't help but think how splendid the color would be for wedding by the sea.  Pairing it with gold and beige tones make for a cool, calm, and soothing addition to invitations, cakes, and attire!  Not only does seafoam work in unison with neutrals, but you could use it with a contrasting color like tangerine or a coordinating color like kelly to create a fun palette that's a little bolder.  Surely seafoam can also stand on it's own as the center of attention or play pretty with pure white.  We predict these sea inspired shades to be very popular in celebrations this season, and Allure Invitations is already on trend with this pretty floral invitation suite as well as The Cupcakerie with this sweet treat! What do you think about this pretty pastel shade for your spring or summer soiree?
