Another one of our lovely readers asked us to help her with an inspiration board. The colors for her December wedding are eggplant, chocolate, ivory, and a dusty sagey blue. Over the moon for winter weddings already, this board was a blast for me to create! The wedding was to have an elegant, candlelit feel, so we didn't want anything too cutesy or in the realm of glittery snowflakes. But seasonality is a great element to incorporate into other ways, like using branches, twigs, fun winter food like a hot cocoa bar, and glamorous elegant fashions like fur stoles and winter boots! I thought a dark chocolate brown suit would be a great alternative to a tux for the gentlemen, and vintage crocheted wraps would be wonderful to keep the bridesmaids warm. I think long dresses would be beautiful in varying shades and styles in the eggplant color family. Bouquets of pinecones offset a more traditional bridal bouquet, in hues of ivory with lambs ear and maybe a touch of a chocolate cosmos or scabiosa. Fiddlehead ferns also would look fab any any of the floral arrangements, as would large branchy statement pieces like this escort card tree, and these fantastic branches suspended from the ceiling. Candles line the center of elegant Tuscan style tables and give the atmosphere the warmth of family and the holidays. A family style dinner would be the perfect choice, bringing everyone even closer! Deep purple artichokes can also be used as decor from cocktail tables to place card holders. Deep purple velvet pillows are the perfect finishing touch for the lounge area or the ring barer.
